Perfect tank?

So what do you think is the perfect size for a tank? Or setup?
Right now I have my eye on a 120gal veiwable on 3 sides. the overflow is on the side of the tank. Lots of room to stack up rock. How about you?

Thats a question that depends on the individual I think. For me I want my next tank to be 6x4x2 viewable on three sides. The 4 foot width would work as I can reach the back bottom of my 150 now so from each side I would have acces to half of the tank. The 6 for viewing and the room for aquascaping would be awesome! Id love something insanely large but the equipment/power/upkeep costs would become a burdon at some point for me. The design would have to work weel to keep maintainence at a minimum.

One thing I have really liked is a deep tank. A 5 or 6' wide tank by like 3 or 4" deep and 24" tall would beeee sweet!

I am thinking more like a 4ft tall by 6ft in diameter with a 1ft in diameter round round over flow with 2 to 4 returns. Also need at least 6 additional bulkheads drilled into the bottom of the tank for a closed loop high preasure system. Would probably have to be 1 1/2 acrylic and should hold 3000 gallons.

As long as your paying someone to clean the 4" depths your OK!
Anything over 24" tall is a pain to reach!

That's why I think a 180g is the best size (6' x 2' x 2').

It's big enough to allow you to keep just about anything, without being so big that it's difficult to maintain (and that includes not just cleaning costs, but electrical costs to run all the pumps and lights).

Along with my 180g, I have a 155g (bowfront) and 120g, also. The 155 is essentially like the 180, except the front glass is curved. The 120 (4' x 2' x 2') is really too small for big, active fish like Tangs.
