It can be pretty normal, those guys get pretty teritorial as they age. It's not a surprise, thats for sure!

Gets worse as they get bigger. I don't know who came up with all the "cute" clown fish stuff but my mature Maroon would have given Jaws a run for his money.

Everytime I stick my hand in the tank I have to keep one eye on my maroon clown so that I can flick my hand at him if he gets too close to it.

I have a few yellow damsels that are wicked...they will come from the bottom and bite like crazy...I use a turkey baster to scare them off and keep it next to my hand when its in the water...

I think it gets even worse if they have an anemone to protect. No fish or human is allowed anywhere near the anemone.

I time cleaning my tank on the off weeks that my Tomatoes do not have eggs. She can actually draw blood. Talk about bitting the hand that feeds.

I think it was said best by someone else on this site.

"If clownfish were the size of sharks we would never go into the ocean"

My four percs are viscious little buggers and attack my had anytime I try to do anything in the 75 gal tank.

I can swat at my maroon all day long and she still attacks. She drew blood once but not so much anymore. She has several host so nowhere is safe in my tank, but I love her anyway!

I've never had a problem with mine (so far). My Coral Banded Shrimp however wants to clean me like nobody's business.
