Peppermint feeding

I have been feeding my peppermint shrimp marine flakes, but I'd like to try feeding some shrimp. Can it be raw shrimp from the grocery store or does it need to be a specific type? Also, how much should I feed? The shrimp is only about an inch to an inch and a half long.

We feed our tank the shrimp pellets we get at Walmart. They are dry, in a can. The serpent and brittle stars come out after them as do all the shrimp, fish and crabs.

I give them an A+ for a happy tank. Never read the phosphate level though. But in our 400g system, I dont worry about it too much.

Good luck,

Chris

Frozen brine (or any brine shrimp for that matter) isn't very nutritious...

I just go to the meat counter and buy some frozen raw cocktail shrimp. Often, the guys give it to me free as a "sample," 'cause they hate to sell me 2 shrimp. Anyway, I slice it into 1cm or smaller cubes and feed that to everything in the tank. The corals love it, the stars fight over it, and the shrimp steal it. One smallish cocktail shrimp will feed a lot of critters when it's cut small. I usually peel it because it's hard to slice without having the peel come off (but it doesn't matter, really.)

It's cheap and easy...

I will feed mine pieces of freeze-dried krill. I usually rip one one for target feeding the star, peppermint, and fire shrimp. They all seem to love it.
