lol, i think the shrimp was picking at an already dead strand, it was curled and looked kinda white but the reaction of the duster from this was violent, he quickly pulled in, hes out now and the shrimpisn't bothering him at the moment, though he was very interested when i first introduced the duster

Yeah, hopefully the feather duster is already old news to your shrimp!

same thing happened with my very first featherduster... in fact if you search my posts, you'd find me freaking on about it
Mine just "tossed his crown" and I let it be... and I was giddy when his "feathers" grew back a couple months later

Ann-Marie...did a shrimp jump all over it, or did it happen on its own?

i moved the duster to a part of the tank that the shrimp doesn't often go(for some reason he stays primarily on the right side of the tank and rarely ventures far from a cave i have built there) and i havent had any problems since when i first introduced the duster last night

A peppermint attacked
When I saw this post, I almost thought my really, really old one had been bumped back up from "the vaults"
But my thread was... called " ACK! HELP! feather duster attacked by peppermint!"

weird. I have 3 pepps and one hangs upside down right next to my big duster and doesn't even touch it. I do feed frozen mysis tho and every day those shrimp are well fed. If this is the case then I will continue to keep them well fed cuz I cherish my dusters!
