People with Oceanic Tanks...

Do you guys have that big slab of glass that braces the middle? I know its a pain for working on the middle of the tank, but does it block out light for corals? I had one a long time ago on a fowlr and sometimes it would grow green alage, but it also seemed to get cloudy from Ca. buildup. Trying to decide if this is a reason not to get an Oceanic 215 with the Starphire.

I have a 200g Oceanic(used) sitting/waiting in the workshop and it has the glass brace on it FWIW. It's a bit hazy from deposits and i've tried a few things to remove it, but only got so far with it. Since i already planned on not having Mh light over the center (and brace) i figured i would just keep lesser light needing stuff in the middle sort of a cloud covered, not as bright area.

I was worried about that too with flourescent lighting (T-5). With MH, I don't think it would have been a big deal, but as it is I decided to get one of their "brick" lineups, which is sans top brace.
