Pc Lighting

I have set up a frag only tank with a 75 gallon tank, 2 250 watt halide lights and overflow into a 100 gallon horse trough. My question is if I put a 4 65 watt power compact light over the trough would I have enough light to frag low light corals in this trough. If so what could I frag here and what bulbs should be in the PC?

I think you could grow softies under PCs, especially if they were on a eggcrate shelf so not that deep in the tank. I think the bulb change out every 6 months would get old quickly. If I was going to use all PC for a frag tank I would probably either go all 10000K or half 10s, half 6500K to get the best growth, though not great coloration

I thought that this might be a good spot for low light low current corals like acans if I put them on egg crate and set the crate high in the trough, any thoughts?

At the present time I have half 6500 and half 10000 but It is time to replace these bulbs

I have a 2' long 2 x 96" fixture over my 28 gallon bow and am going to use it to light half my 75g.

I keep all kinds of softies and a RBTA under it just fine, and the 75g is not too deep.

I would like to have a place to grow out Chalice, Favia and such. I thought that as long as I had the 75 running with the MH I could use the trough with the PCs and take care of the Med. light corals.

We didn't do too well with pagoda cup and candy cane, but hammerhead and some others are doing great. I can't wait to see how everything will do when we move up to MH or T5 though. Better move the softies to the bottom then.

I have always been afraid to put softies and sps in the same system. Does anyone else have an opinion on this?
