PBT Trouble

I hope Im overreacting here but my Powder Blue Tang is not acting normal. One second hes fine and swimming normal, the next he's stationary and twitching a bit. I have noticed him flashing against the rocks a few times. There are no spots or discoloration, his eyes are clear and his breathing seems normal. The only thing different is his behavior.

I soak all my food in vitamins and garlic and there are three cleaners in the tank. All my water parameters check out and everything else in the tank looks fine.

I know this is kind of a "just wait it out" type of thing, but can any one give me suggestions on what I should be looking for or if this behaviour sounds familiar in any way?

TIA

1) How long have you had him and do you know how long he was in the store before you brought him home?

2) Do you have a grounding probe on the tank?

3) Any new additions lately?

PBT's are my fave; I hope he does well.

1) How long have you had him and do you know how long he was in the store before you brought him home?

>About three months now. The store I got him from always has healthy fish, the quarentine them for 2 weeks before putting them up for sale. Hes always been active, in full color and eating. Since last night though he seems a little slugish. He doesn't seem to be flashing anymore, maybe the cleaners finally got off their butts and helped him out.

2) Do you have a grounding probe on the tank?

>No. Why? I dont know. You would think it cost a lot of money or something. Ive got to get one soon.

3) Any new additions lately?

Yes, I added some corals yesterday. No store water got in my tank and even if it did I live 5 minutes away so it couldn't have been that bad. I had trouble placing a frag of montipora and I dropped it. It released that web like stuff in reaction to the mishandling. If he ate that, which I think he did, would that cause a bad reaction?

PBT's are my fave; I hope he does well.

>Mine too, He seems a little better now, Ill let you know how it turned out. Hes eating Nori that I soaked in Selcon & garlic and pecking away at the rocks again.

Thank You

Just asking about new additions because crypto-ich cycts can come in on the base rock of the coral and if he breaks out with ich, that may be where it came from.

Got my fingers crossed!

Great

I would recomend feeding him some garlic to help make sure.
