Parasites Attached to Yellow Tang

I've had a very healthly looking Yellow Tang for about 3 weeks now in a 2 month old tank. The Tang continues to eat a variety of foods and looks very healthy. In fact, he's grown since I bought him.

My question - there was a white spec on one of his pectoral fins. The spec has now grown to 1-2mm and is easily noticed. The Tang does not seem distressed. Should I remove this parasite? How (it would be difficult to catch him)?

Jon,
Sorry to hear that. Is your tang alone in the tank? If not, it's best to remove him to a quarantine/hospital tank to reduce exposure to other fish in the tank. You may want to do some research on www.wetwebmedia.com on fish diseases. This site is a wonderful place to go to research health problems on fish. There are many experts here. Although it can be hard to find exactly what you're looking for, I've found lots of great info there.
