pairing up clowns

Does anyone know how long it take to get a new pair of clown to sart to reproduce.

I don't think there is an answer to that question. I'm working on the same thing. I have a male and a female in a tank with no other fish. They hang out together, sleep together, and even nuzzle a little, but still no spawning.

I'll let you know when they do and hopefully will get pics of it.

thanks I have heard of a guy that it took his about 2 years before the first spawning.Let me know when yours does.

I agree with Rick on time limit as I have a pair of maroon clownfish and have not spawned in a year and a half. I have heard they will do better with a host anenome which stimulates them to spawn but just have to wait and see what develops! Johnny

Joyce Wilkerson's book is always a great place to start for clownfish questions.

With spawning, tank size as well as other fish in the community, can affect spawning behaviors. Numerous other possibilities but she has some definite suggestions about how to encourage pairing, spawning behavior, etc...
