Pair of peppermint shrimp in an AC500 fuge?

I just made an AC500 fuge with a pound of live rock, a 3" sand bed, a baffle, and i cut the impeller down to only 2 blades from six. The flow is relatively slow (maybe 200GPH?)
Soon I will add a PC light and some macro algae.

Would if be OK to add a pair of peppermint shrimp inside, for a natural food source for the clowns when they breed? Is the flow too strong for them? Will they need to be fed inside the fuge (difficult, the food will flow right out) or will they live off the macro algae and life on it inside the fuge?

peps are more predatory than herbivory. they can eat aiptasia if you have some of that in the fuge. have you seen how big a pep can get? two will not fit in that filter when full grown. i have one that is nearly 4" long! he is almost as long as a panther grouper that is also in the tank. if you want to use shrimp breeding as a food source look into ghost shrimp. they are saltwater shrimp that happen to be able to live in FW. some LFS can "special" order SW versions of them. or you can very slowly acclimate the FW ones back to SW.
