paint for inside stand & canopy

Hey all, I am wanting to paint the inside of my stand and canopy/light box white, and am wondering what paint to use. I want it to be nice and sealed from moisture, but also not break the bank like some marine paints will. any suggestions?

Jason - I did two coats of a sealant first, then a coat of latex, sanded it, then another coat of latex, and 2-3 coats of polyurethane, sanding in between. Is that what you wanted to know?

Cath, that's pretty intense! I've had success with just one coat of water based primer (a Kilz product would work well, and I've used sherwin williams stuff as well), then caulk in all the seams, then one coat of latex paint (gloss or high gloss is easier to clean up). This sealed everything pretty well.

so, a coat of kilz, caulk the seams, and coat in latex high gloss?

Worked well for me. A quart of kilz primer or latex paint is like $9 or so, which shouldnt break the bank. And unless it's a big project, a quart should be plenty.

Agree with Chris, except I would caulk first, then throw down two layers of Kilz, followed by a couple layers of white high gloss latex. It should be pretty much bullet proof - unless you have standing water on it for a week.

primer cans recommend that you prime first, then caulk, but if you have something else just read the directions.

Oh shoot, I didn't know that. OK, prime first, then caulk.
