overhaul

okay, I am tired of battling hair algea, and I am going to be moving in the next month, so I decided to overhaul my tank. I think I am going to use 200lbs of sand from pure carribean, and order about 50 lbs of new live rock, this shoud give me a 3.5 in sandbed, and 175lbs of live rock, my tank is a 100gal, 60X24X18, and I have a 50 gal sump. my lighting is dual 175watt mh and 440watts vho. the metal halides are 8 in off the water. Does this sound like a good plan????? I was using sand I got at home depot, but I don't think it was the right stuff.

Sounds like a plan. We might do the same thing on our tank, replace the sand, but we would only go about 1-2" and get mostly new rock.

It is a big investment but I think worth it.

Has anyone bought any of the stuff from Pure Carribean Aragonite? Any opinions on the stuff? Anyone know what the shipping is like??? Thanks in advance.
