overflow/closed loop question

can i make the drain for my sump and the intake for my closed loop on the bottom of the same over flow, i guess to clarify have two holes at the bottom of the over flow one drains into the sump and one drains into the CL?? willl i need an overflow that flows twice as much, will this feed enough into the closed loop??

Then the closed loop wouldnt be closed. If I understand, youwant to pull the water for the CLS form the overflow. You could do it , yes youd need a bigger overflow capability to match the return pump and loop pump.

it prolly will not work. the linear length of the weir can only handle so much flow. this is usually only about 50% more than what the drain can handle. if you go above this than the flow pump will just drain the overflow completely. you can double check what your weirs can handle using this calculator. you will need to fiddle with it a bit, but you will get pretty close if you measure the linear length of the weirs.
