outdoor floodlight for fuge?

Hey! I found a 42 watt outdoor flourescent floodlight marked 6500 K for thirty bucks at HD with the bulb! Will it grow some chaeto in the fuge? Should I get something different?

I never tried flourecent floodlight
I am using a 65w sylvania Growth floodlight that i bought flom HomeDepot or was it Lowes.
I am sure the 42 watt flourescent produces more light than the traditional 100w flood light (probably says it on the package)
my bulb was only 8 bucks but im sure yours will last a lot longer.
I have had great growth with my lamp.

Ok this is the exact bulb I use
Sylvania Spot-GRO 65W a link http://goodmart.com/products/34865.htm
You can also get it in higher wattages but this was fine for my 40g refugium thats 11inches deep. Remember higher the wattage more heat produced.
You can get it at Lowes or Ace Hardware
It sits about 4 inches away fromthe water and it does get splattered with water on occasion. hasnt blown. But ive only had it for 6 months.

I used one of the Lights of America brand fluorescent spotlights (bent PC bulb) for many years to grow Xenia, and although it is in the blue end of the spectrum, it should work fine for stimulation of coralline as well as Cheato growth.
