ORP Levels

Well I just thought I would through out there that my ORP levels are at around 410 without UV or Ozone being dosed. Merely a water change every 4-7 days and great skimming. Is there the possibility that if it gets to high naturally that it will be bad for the fish and corals? How would one lower this level if need be?

You could do a WC to lower it,but you really should have a controler when using Ozone.

He's not running Ozone, So let me say LOL, don't worry my orp is about the same mine runs between 420-435 and I don't use ozone or uv either.

I wish my ORP was 420
Are these tanks shallow tanks?

My orp is 190 without ozone
My fish gasp if i leave it off to long
I raise it to 430 using ozone
No i wouldnt worry about it with a naturally hi orp you are lucky. you dont need ozone.

When mine gets that high I clean my probe and it drops back into the 350-375 range.

My ORP readings increase over time. You need to clean the probe every now and then to get correct readings. I clean mine about once every two months.

I didn't say he was running Ozone(so LOL).I'm just saying to have a high ready (somewhere over 500)you would be using ozone toget there and you should be using a controller then.

I do control and dose ozone but have not had to lately. I do blame it for killing my naso tang. I have an AC3Pro controlling it and have already had to send back one probe as it was so innacurate. I have 2 50 Gallon Prop tanks, a 40 gallon prop, 75 gallon sump, and a 210 display. I find that doing a WC will drop it to about 350 then as you said it raises back up in about 3 days. I use a tooth brush to clean it up every week or so as I thought it was getting dirty, but it is in a high flow part of my sump and it really should not be getting caked up.

My water is amazing though. :-)
