ordering lr

looking at lr from liveaquaria.com, seems like good prices just i have a couple questions. i plan on cooking this rock once i get it, so there is premium fiji rock with 90% coralline on it and there is foundation fiji rock. will cooking rock kill off the coralline? if not ill probably get the premium, if it will kill it ill get the foundation. also ive noticed in my tank there are places on my rock where coralline is growing rapidly, and other places where it wont grow at all, why is this? and will it grow over everything eventually?

Cooking your rock will kill your coralline, the extent of which depends on how long you cook for......however, it comes back super fast assuming your calcium and alk are sustained at healthy levels.
SO, although you will be in a sense killing off part of what you are paying for, it will be beautiful and colorful again many many months sooner than the base rock will be

have you looked a www.reefscience.com? they have great LR. i have seen it in person. it is very clean LR. as in it is pretty much just corraline on the LR with some tuft algae. not nearly the normal dirty water LR that most people get. BTW-there is a reason whey there is so much "life" on a lot of that LR you get. it comes from the backsides of a reef. the dirty parts.
