Orange Hairy Algae

I made the mistake of adding a calcium +3 additive to early which caused a orange hairy algae to spread in my sand and on my rocks. My fish were eating the algae and my anenome's are fine. But I was wondering if anybody had any ideas to stop the algae. I am doing weekly small water changes. Would snails be a good idea for a reef tank?

A combination of snails and hermits would be great for any reef tank. I know some people think they are ugly and would rather not have them, but they really help keep the tank clean. They control algae, what more could you ask for.

hmm

Snails are awesome, I use turbos, astreas, and nassarius, oh and a couple of stomatellas that hitch hiked in, You aldo need to consider though that if algae is growing something is feeding it, nitrates and/or phoaphates. So you might wanna check for the prob there. It's always better to cure the cause rather than treat the symptom
