Talking

Orange Fungia Plate Spawned tonight

My mother is visiting. As she was watching the JBJ 12 nano, she said that the orange fungia was "rippling" or "pulsing like a heartbeat." I said, "Nyah, it's just the current." POOF! A jet of cloudy spawn comes out of it. A minute or so later another comes out. It's spawning! As we were preparing to eat the overcooked pork chops (coral spawning distraction) we setup the video camera to catch any follow-on activity. I'll review the tape and post anything that the camera caught.

Woot!

So far the water still looks good. Doesn't look like it will cause a tank crash. I'm getting a change ready just in case.

Ok, here's the video. The cloud was thinner with each spawn cycle. These repeated every few minutes for at least an hour.

thats crazy as heck!! the weird thing is, i have an orange plate that was acting weird all night too, not spawning (that i saw) but it may be related, isnt it all due to lunar cycles and gravitational pulls and junk?

Thanks! Yes, it's budding. The bud is about a year into forming. It's starting to look like it's ready to separate.
