OR 6500 and MR2

Just curious if anyone has tried running a MR2 single beckett with an Ocean Runner 6500?.. On the MRC site they recommend the following pumps: Mag18, Blue Line 55, PCX 40, PCX 55... The Mag pushes 1800gph and the rest are 1100-1200gph pressure pumps, the OR6500 is rated at 1700 but only uses 115W max... Did a search here, but didn't find anything... Tried searching on RC but as usual the search is choked...

I just got off the phone with MRC. Call and talk to Andy when he gets in next week. He would be able to give you the best answer.

looking at the pump curves for those pumps i would say the answer is no. that 6500 just does not have the oomph to power an MRC pump. the 6500 tops out at 12' of head. the other are closer to 20' of head. the beckett alone creates at least 7' of head.

stick with the pumps that Andy Recommends. another choice would be the Velocity T3 if you are looking for quiet.

For a MR2 I really reccomend a big external high pressure pump like the GenX PCX-55, the beckett depends on this pump to work properly and you won't be disspointed.
