Options if I can't "cook" my liverock?

Well I am battling a similar problem to lizzie as some of you know. I had a algae problem that is getting better. I admit I don't know if in the beginning my liverock was cured or not. Anyways it looked nice for 3 or 4 months now the last 3 months still looks brown and green from algae. I am going to change my crushed coral bed to sand only and add 3 koralias. What can I do with my liverock if I can't cook it? It would be hard to cook it in my cramped up 1 bedroom apartment. Feesibly I could buy a whole not batch of "fully-cured". Also anything better I can do then just wiping the tank down with a scrubber to rid it of algae? I'm thinking of doing that and just rinsing my liverock and scrubbing it a whole lot. Keep in mind that my tank is full of livestock and I am just working around them.

Tangs,
I tried that. I took out my rock and rinsed and scrubbed with a bristle brush. It didn't work. Maybe not enough elbow grease? Who knows....but it didn't clean up until I cooked it. Just FYI, maybe you will have better luck with this.

Post your water parameters.
Tell us more about the tank. What lights, light schedule, feedings, livestock etc

You need to get your nutrients under control first and foremost. If you have crushed coral, you need to remove that for sure. It just traps detritus and creates nitrate pockets. That ends up causing problems.

I had an algea bloom about 3 months after I moved. I cleared it up by just keeping up with good husbandry practices and feeding slightly less than I was before then over the next few months it slowly cleared up and my caralline algea started spreading like crazy.

ok this is my lights: Corallife
Aqualight 48 " Lunar Strip
Double Linear Strip two 65 watt 10,000K and two
65 watt True Actinic 03 Blue straight pin base compact fluorescent lamps Four 3/4 watt Lunar Blue-Moon-Glow LED lamps

What are these any good? Anyways I run the blue for a hour then both for 7 hours then blue for a hour thats the daily schedule. I feed every other day small amount of food. Currently use IO salt and ph buffer every water change. I want to go to red sea salt next water change. My livestock is:
Blue Tang
volitan lionfish
2 damselfish
tomato clownfish
long green tentacle anenome
25 various snails
15 naussarius snails
10 hermit crabs and 2 emerald crabs
3 coral frags zoanthid,xenia,and a mushroom
ALso like I said not sure if I have cured rock or what please read my first post. switching out all the sandbed and going to a dsb and also going with the koralias gonna move 2000 gph water is the plan. I just plan to scrub the heck out of everything before I add the new sandbed.

I had a similar problem and I took the same steps

I would take my rocks out
scrub them down in a bucket
rinse them very well in a second bucket
then another rinse in a third bucket

everytime I restacked the rocks, I would move my PH's around, add 1 here and there

I finally got the results I wanted after about 2 months
by then I had no detritis in the 3rd rinse bucket
