Open letter to the board
OK this has gone on long enough, after having read replies to several emails from all concerned as well as user input directed to me personally. I will comply with Mr Mikes desire to not participate in this board. I am sorry it came to this, and that he feels the need to threaten us with badmouthing on other boards. In spite of several days efforts on the part of many people he failed to see the very simple point, Geez all that happened was a discrete email was sent asking him to tone down the tude in his repies. For that we are all fascits, commies, and nazis, lets not forget mafioso. Give me a break. I hope the rest of the board understands censorship is not what TRT is about, we just bust our asses to create a friendly environment for any one to talk reef, altho we always have catered to new reefers. Its really simple, pretty much anything goes as long as its kept on a nice level. Its worked for over 2 and a half years and I don't think its a hard concept for most people to grasp. Again I apoligize that this whole thing has gotten way out of hand, and I am sorry that the majority had to suffer thru the rants of a few. Mr Mike has stated in yet another rambling email directed at moderators he doesnt wish to participate so i have helped him out by deleting his posting privleges along with his little friend. If anyone in the NYC area has difficulty getting on due to ISP access denial please email me and I will fix it, Again my apoligese that you all had to endure this

Hey I have no idea what thats all about, but Ive read a few of your posts Doug1 and found them to be very helpful.
If whoever doesnt like it and is giving others problems.....screw him.
I think you should stay and post. Thats my vote.
The guy who's a commie, nazi etc. is the one trying to shut you down. Not you trying to instill some civility.
Some people talk a big talk when its just typing on the computer.
Screw em I say.

Thank you, Doug. You and Alice deserve high praise for the restraint and endurance of the
past few days. It's regrettable that our members had to endure this bit of flap but I am thankful that this is over. Like a kidney stone; this too, shall pass.
Time to move on to more constructive and pleasant reefing for all.

Sparky thanks for the support, but its a really deep issue that pains me deeply. I am really frustrated over the whole thing, a lot of which has taken place on email, that wont be drug out on the board as I feel it runs counter to the goals of this board.

Doug,
It's really a shame that it has come to this. I know that you, Alice, Dick, and all the other mods/admins work hard to keep things like this from happening. If MrMike wants to blow a simple email out of proportion thats his choice, he loses my respect for that. But it comes to a point where it is no longer tolerable, let alone even an issue. You have made the right choice. People come to TRT to learn, have fun, and just have an all-around good time. But then one of MM's "followers" starts criticizing us on a personal level that is just unnacceptable, and I can only imagine what the emails were like. I would do the same thing, and we all know you (mods/admins) did everything in your power to prevent this, but it is necessary. If anything, seeing how everybody handled the situation appropriately and professionally made me gain respect for you all. The only ones who lost my respect was MrMike and his thug. This shouldn't have even been an issue! Thank you to all the mods and admins, you all deserve our admiration for what you do. Doug, don't let these two jerks get you down, any one of us would do the same thing. Mods/Admins, TRT members are all with you guys, thank you for making this suce a great place
Drew

Thanks Drew, I hope everyone who hangs out here has half the understanding that you seeeem to have. I really like this board, I think we have a lot of fun and share a lot. Everyone is so great it comes as a shock when it gets outta hand. Since no one has grabbed a rope and threatened to lynch me I think its time to close the thread and let it pass into the night
