open brain not expanding

I have searched already and read about other's experiences with their brains not expanding LOL no pun intended...

anyway, I have had this beautiful red/neon open brain for a good long while, it was in my 29 before the upgrade, it did great with the move to the new tank back in august. I took out my 2 seio 1100s 3 days ago, and added a high flow GS2 maxijet mod from www.tritonaquatics.com...this thing puts out 2500gph of flow, and to think I ordered 2 of them!!! I have only installed one of the and the flow is incredible! About the time I put this new flow into the tank my open brain stopped expanding...my parameters are as follows...

temp 79
SG 1.025
PH 8.2
ALK 8
CAL 450
nitrate,ammonia, nitrite all 0.0
mag I think it was 1320 (I hate that test)

everything else is doing fine...is it the extra flow that is bothering it? I fed it yesterday and it did eat a small piece of silversides and I fed it last Sunday and it ate great! Please help!

watch out, the stooges might be insulted!

i think the extra flow may be aggrevating him. try deflecting as much current as you can so he gets low flow and still has moderate light ( not shade but not direct light. ).

Congrats on the new powerheads! Keep them running cause the tank sure appreciates it I'm sure

Oh, and about the "other" brain, I have moved it sort of out of direct flow between some rocks, it is still getting good light though. I hope it will be ok...it is one of my faves!

I would side with lower flow as well. Mine was tucked into a area that had strong light (at the bottom of the tank) and little flow. Always did great there.

Humour is only worth while if it's directed at another person and/or group

Or if someone gets a little pain...

I would agree it is possibly flow...

It is still very deflated...I don't know where else to move it where there is not much flow...except in the very back on a corner where I will never see it...I am going to be very upset if I lose this brain... I have had it a good long while too.
