open brain and bare bottom ?

i'm going to be moving one tank (with DSB) to a new tank with a bare bottom setup.

one thing that i'm not sure about is my open brain coral (Trachyphyllia Geoffroyi)

how will this one like a bare bottom? the skeleton is like a pointy cone, so he'll be tipped over leaning on it's side if i put it on a flat hard surface. will that tick him off, or even hurt the tissue where it will be leaning on the bottom?

IME your biggest consern is how much light he gets,... Especially in my BB tanks I had to be super careful not to give my green one too much light or it would bleach.

In my BB 15 he was in a back corner shadowed and plenty happy

My red brains seem OK on the bottom of the 95 after I took the sand out
