Alan, I can't have one of these. So you have to have one for me.

So what are we looking at there? Seems like I have seen that pic before, just can't place it. Those teeth look mean!

That's a terminal male yellowhead wrasse. Very easy going with other fish, will eat inverts though. Absolutely something else in person. Great personality and about 8".

Nice looking fish. Funny that I was just looking at wrases about the same time you posted what it was. I want a wrasse for the reef, but it looks like most all are jumpers, and there is no way I can think of to seal off the reef. My new FOWLR tank has glass lids, so wrasse jumpers are not a problem. I will have to see if I can find a yellowhead.

SIGHHHH... rub it in One of my favorite past times here in AR is catching "critters" fish, snakes, turtles, crawdads(crayfish) and what not, I have had who knows how many "creek tanks", probably one of the first aquariums I ever had was a stream tank. I would have loved to have went out collecting. Next time I will know and be better prepared, hehe..
I saw lots of life around the bay where we were, upside down jellies and too many sponges and relateds to count. When we went to the gulf a few years ago I saw my first sargassum fish in the wild, it's always cool to see these animals in there own habitat.
