Onyx & Nanogurl's 120g Ocean In a Wall

Hi everyone!

Well, we did it! We finally moved our Oceanic Tech 120g reef and made it into an in wall system. We started working on this a few weeks ago, and so far everything has gone really good! The worst part was moving all the fish and corals and being scared we would lose something, but luckily everyone survived just fine!

Here is some background info on the tank. (I will edit this to keep it current)

Equipment List:

120g Oceanic Tech Tank - 48.5" x 24.5" x 25"

And here is a photo of how the tank looked when we first set it up. It's been up and running since June 2008, but we transferred everything over from our previous 75g.

And here are the final FTS prior to the move.

If anyone remembers we moved into our new house last year. OMG it's been a year already! So yea, the downstairs pretty much sat unfinished for that long. We were waiting to move the tank until we figured out what we wanted to do with the space.

Here is the wall where the tank goes.

Hole cut in the wall. It was really odd looking at that LoL

The new stand built higher then the Tech Stand.

New plubming! Best part, I had to do nothing!

Tank in place and the trim up. Everything was level.

Lights! This is how the tank looked right after getting it all setup.

Moving the fish and corals definitely was the worse. We moved them into a 30g breeder overnight using the same water from the tank when we broke it down.

We placed the live rock into a large storage tote overnight.

Kudos, nicely done and it look like you have plenty of room for the wet room behind it.

I do hate moving a tank, but I'm sure the result will be worth it.

Thanks! Yea, the room is pretty big it's like 15' x 20' or something like that. This is a photo of directly behind the tank prior to moving it.

Sooo... we just spent the last three hours painting the downstairs. Ugh! The good news is we got most of it done. Here are a couple of progress photos from the other night. I'll get some more tomorrow I'm too exhausted right now to take more.

The crown molding and trim still needs to be painted and put in.

Another view with the tank lights off. The color of the wall is light beige.

And now it's def time for a hot bath. Goodnight!
