Red face

Only took four years but.........

I finally have an RO/DI system up and running. I got it yesterday, plumbed it all u in and rinsed the filters. All is good. Also my TDS from the tap is ~220, not to bad!

Man these are slow.......I got a 75GPD setup w/ dual outputs (DI-aquarium) & (RO-Drinking water) and it came w/ a 4 gallon tank & Faucet.

Question: Where should the pressure guage be located. I know after the carbon blocks & before Membrane, but I have it AFTER the Shut off valve right now. Should it be before or doesn't really matter? I noticed when off it shows 0 pressure and 40 when running?

you want the value on the line feeding the main system so you know hwat the pressure is going to the system.

Ok so is the idea to use it after the sediment and carbon to determine when they are getting used up or clogged not the idea here as why I put them there??

I figured if the pressure starts going down then they need changed??

Very cool! Or I should say About time!

I don't have a pressure gauge, but if I did I would put it right on the hose that goes into the RO, the only thing that matters is the feed pressure to the RO membrane.

Shouldn't the TDS meter will tell you when to replace the filters? If you have a dual in-line TDS meter then you can put one after the carbon and one after the DI. That way you know what's going on with each one.

The carbon & sediment will have no effect on TDS!

I do have a dual inline...I was planning on ineveitably puuting it after the RO membrane and After the DI.

I guess I can just use time as a changing decision maker for the sediment 7 carbon blocks!

That is where it is at...but before the Auto shut off or after it?

Basically it goes...Sediment, carbon, carbon, auto shutoff, RO, DI or Tank!

I would put it after, right where the water goes into the RO.

I replace my Carbon and Sediment cartriges at 9 months to 1 year.

You have 7???? Wow, that's overkill

The 7 was supposed to be "&" missed the shift key on that one!

Sediment & carbon blocks!

That would be a crazy setup!
