Yea my freinds that smoke and have reef tanks smoke outside or have big air filters next to there tanks well at least we might know why they keep dieing now .

HAHAHAHA! sorry to interrupt on your thread, but since i was reading about the algae problem, I just kept going.  I've got algae, and I don't smoke, and nor do most of my friends.

LOL Lighting got my DSL modem again second time this week.
I hate lighting and on top of that we didnt get any rain. that sucks even worse.
anyways yeah the smoking doesnt cause algae he was trying to figure out why I cant keep shrimpies alive more than a few minutes in my tanks. LOL

Hmmm..... I keep a cleaner shrimp and four camel shrimp im my tank (for a 1 mo+). My mother in law smokes like a chimney when she's over and has yet to affect them. I do have a 95 gal though, perhaps tank size is an issue here....

dont know about tank size but smoke is not good for any living thing and his mother lives with him and smokes all day everyday I beleive

yeppers and its a 100 with a 20 gallon sump but its all open with fans blowing across the water so.
Tank size always makes a difference in everything on water quality and diluteion of chemicals and toxins etc etc.... you get the point LOL

Buzz its a fact not a theory at the last superbowl game my friend
had a guy put out his cigarette not in the ash tray but in the reef tank next morning every shrimp was dead nothing else affected that we could tell,needless to say that dude will not be invited next time Oh and you need to stop smokin it will kill you to
