Talking

One more Q then i'll leave you alone!

Hey, i was curious about feeding my fish and corals frozen shrimp and crab that you would just buy at the grociery store. a local restraunt feeds there tank just scraps of shrimp and crab & occasionaly shark. I was just wondering if this was less healthy than the stuff you buy at the fish store frozen in little cubes?

Hmm, i think a lot of us do the practice of getting "storebought/seafood" type stuff for or tank/fish, me included,,gotta watch for added preservatives that need to be removed/flushed away(Jerel ,chime in here ,and remind us what you need to wash the seafood off to remove this )

Do a search here on "blender mush" , and that will give you help on what you want to know. you'll learn you don't want to use that much shrimp in your mix/feeding (too much of a "binder")

And if i have not offically done so yet,,,WELCOME TO TRT!
and don't ever think you are bothering us asking questions, ask away,,better yet, check the archives here, do a search on specific topics you might have,,,you'd be suprized on what us knuckle-heads talk about, some reef-related! LOL

BTW: last time i was down in the Keys, Jerel(Spanky) gave me a package of "bait squid" outa his freezer to help cool the styro of livestock i was returning to Indiana with,,,
my FO tank fish loved it !

like i mentioned, do a search on your inquiry, and you ought to get enuf info to satisfy your question,,

again also , welcome to TRT!

i too use the bait shop squid.. i rinse to get any phospates off that i can....before using it.. i do feed my fish and corals mush or solid pieces of frozen minnows also from the bait shop... really better prices then the LFS and the food markets around here 10 $ buys me food for about 6 onths or more!
