Ok, Now a lighting problem

Ok, I'll admit it, I don't change my lights as often as I should. I was well overdue for a new MH bulb, but kept putting it off. But having got my Tax Return today, I figured it was time. bought a brand new 10K 175w MH, and installed it. it was amazing the difference. one doesn't notice how bad things get over time. Now the problem is that most of my corals immediately closed up, just that shock of so much light. the last I changed a bulb, I burned my GSP really bad from the increase, and don't want to do that again. What's the best way to re-acclimate my corals to the high light? Should I cut the MH from 5hrs to 2Hr for say 3 days, then increase it to 3hr for a few more days, etc, until I'm back up to my 5hr day?

Thanks,
Chris

Put a bunch of window screen between the bulb and the tank and slowly remove it to acclimate the coral.

If you can, my prefered method is to raise the lights up, and slowly move them down.
