Oceanic Salt = High Calcium.
Hi Ive being using this salt since I start my tank and every time I test Calcium read over 500. Today I tested and is at 500.
I would like to find a way to reduce the calcium or change salt.
Ive heard people mixing Oceanic with other brand but I dont remember if its IO or Reef Crystal.
Any advice is apreciated thanks.

I would mix IO with Oceanic or just use ReefCrystals. Typical calcium content, from when I used each brand, is;
Oceanic ~550ppm
IO ~ 330ppm
RC ~ 420ppm
Hope this helps!

Add more lps! Okay only joking kinda sorta. I happen to use oceanic for the high calcium, but I also have alot of lps and a clam. My calcium runs about 400 give or take on a given week. If you don't have alot of stony corals that use the extra calcium then Instant ocean would probably work out better for you.

Jenajet lol !!! I would like to have some stony but no MH for me.
My main purpose with this tanks is softies, like a LPS type of tank. I love the look of soft corals a lot. I only have right know a Ricordea, 1 Zoas, and some Gorgonias. Sorry I said them on Espaņol.
Well if I dont find Reef Crystal here I will give it a try with IO mixed with Oceanic.
Thanks for the replys any other advice is apreciated.

I was mixing 50/50 with IO until my IO was used up, and it worked pretty well. Now I use TMPR.

Don't neglect alkalinity if you're concerned about keeping stony corals or clams, it's every bit as if not more than important. While a stable alk in the 7-8 range is fine (and typical for Oceanic), I found it always wanting to dip down to the 4-5 dkh range.

A 50/50 mix of IO and Oceaniac is a great salt IMHO,.. Oceaniac is really high in CA and Mag, but low in Alk,.. IO Is high in Alk and low on CA and Mag.
I personally use IO salt only simply because I can't be bothered to mix, but I did for a few months there and was quite happy with the numbers I was getting.

Huh? I just mean I can't be bothered to have both types of salt on hand so every time I make up water I have to mix them together,.. So I just use instant ocean.
