Oceanic does have high Calcium, but also necessary for stoney corals to utilize cacium are Alkalinity and Mangesium. HOWEVER, switching salt after the tank is up is not a favorable thing to do! It is my philiosphy that the secret to maintaining a successful reef tank in the short and long term is CONSISTANCY! I began 5 years ago with IO and I still use it today....I use XM 10K bulbs and that5 is what I buy EVERY year! In nature the composition of the ocean's salt does not change, nor does the Kelvin rating of the sun over the natural reefs. As my SPS frags became colonies and my colonies grew into show pieces, my demand for calcium has increased....I compensated for this by adding a calcium reactor and later by dripping kalk. I do water changes EVERY Sunday, 28 gallons EVERY Sunday! My fish and corals love it! This replaces exhausted trace elements and keeps nitrates at 0ppm. To me, experimentation is harmful to reef life. This is my philosophy and I live by it...for what it is worth!

Great phiosophy of consistency.
