don't know this guy but found this on rec.aquaria.marketplace and am going to get a couple of bags. maybe someone else is interested also. see below:
bill
I received the following quote from purearagonite.com for a delivery to
Mountain View, CA. I will need a dropdown liftgate since I don't have a
forklift at work. The cost comes out to $18.24 a bag. I'm setting up a
150-gallon tank, so I only need 12 of the bags. I would like to know what
interest there is from reefkeepers in the area in purchasing these bags to
see if I should make such a large purchase. I would charge $20 a bag for
moving 2800 pounds of sand from the pallet to the storage area at my office.
My office is located near Moffett Field and I'm just down the street from
Veritas and Verisign, near the corner of Whisman and Middlefield. If you're
interested, please e-mail me at
ctlmb@yahoo.com with how many bags you would
like to purchase. I'll probably be making the purchase in the next week or
two. Since Southdown isn't available in the area,
Rob Toonen suggested at
the last SeaBay meeting that I should purchase my substrate from
purearagonite.com. You can read about his analysis of Southdown (which is
the same stuff as purearagonite.com) at:
http://www.reefs.org/library/article/r_toonen23.html
I can also bring bags to the next Seabay meeting in October, depending on
how many bags are left and what load my 1987 Volvo station wagon can handle.
I would prefer to unload the sand as soon as I can so I don't keep getting
questions at work why there's so much sand in the storeroom ;-)
