Noob Question TOO much Light?

I have read TONS of stuff on lights, and it all seems to be Greek for the most part. I know more light and proper wavelengths is good. But is there such thing as TOO much light? Could corals become overheated or 'sunburnt' if they have too much light, or if they are near the top of the tank?

Absolutely. There is a point of diminishing returns on lights...look up some of the research by Dana Riddle.
