Noob question about flow
Over the past couple of months I have been building my first reef. This past week I added my first polyps to the tank some green stars and other button polyps. At first I only had a maxijet 600 and a koralia 1 for flow. To bump this up today I added a Koralia 2. This amount of flow just seems to bee way to much. The koralias are aimed up and toward the center which is giving a good random flow, and the maxijet is aimed behind the rocks. All the polyps are open and flowing but it seems like it is too much, Am i just being parinoid?

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

When you think you have enough flow, you need more. If you think there is too much, you have enough! JMO

When I first threw a K4 and K2 in my 30 it seemed like WAY too much.... but it is not, even for a softie and LPS tank. If your MJ is stock the flow may be pretty concentrated but as long as it is not pointed at anything it should be fine. I remove the concentrator cones from my koralias.

the concentrator cone is the extra part that attaches to the end right.

I would probably lose the maxijet and just work the two koralias...

Depends on your rock and such. You just need to play with it and see what works best for you.
