No clicking or missing fish, but I've seen the mantis! I think.

About two weeks ago, when putting some new rock in my tank, i "thought" I saw something green scoot from one of the rocks. I immediately figured I had a mantis shrimp. Since that time, I have not heard any clicking or have had any fish, hermits or shrimp go missing, so I assumed it wasn't a mantis. Well, when feeding my fish yesterday, it came out and grabbed a hunk of food and swam off. He's gotten bigger since I saw him two weeks ago, but now I've seen him and am pretty sure it's a mantis. Except I don't understand why he hasn't killed anything or I've heard no clicking at all. Is there anything else that look like a green mantis, but is totally harmless? ( I ask hopefully).

Is and Emerald Green a type of Mantis, or crab?

Its a pretty harmless, (if its an emerald crab) you wont have much to worry about.

Well, I cleared up the mystery. Mr. Mantis came out again this morning. I was able to catch him. Still not sure why he didn't kill anything or make any clicking. (Although he clicked a lot when I flushed him out of the rock!) It was definitely a Mantis though. He was only about 1 1/2 inches so may have been a juvenile, maybe that's why he wasn't so aggressive...
