Nitrite Problem

hi all, to start, my tank is a 30 xtall with 15gal sump. currently i have an aquac remora, cls powered by mag12 and a return powered by mag9.5. it has been cycling for the past 6weeks and 2days. i have been stuck with nitrite for about two weeks now. it is still at 0.25ppm. my ammonia is at 0ppm, and my nitrate is at 10ppm. there is still no livestock in the tank other than about 40lbs of live rocks. can some body tell me the time frame as to how long for nitrite to completely dissappear? and also when can i add my clean up crew and two clown fish? i, however, am planning on not adding any corals until august 6months since cycling. thanks all

willie

Check the limbo thread--I responded there.
Let me know if you need more info.

What kind of test kit are you using? Based on your post, I wonder if the nitrite test kit is bad. Do you have a LFS that will test your water?

i am using the test kit by Aquarium pharm. and no i don't have a local fish store that is near by that will test my water... petland doesn't test saltwater. and the personal owned stores are far away from me

Your LR might have had a lot of die off, perfectly normal. The cycle is ammonia->nitrite->nitrate-> o2, n2, h2.

Sounds like a good plan on waiting 6 months for coral. Good things to those who wait.
