Nitrate test

I bought a tetra Nitrate test. I tested my tank and it pegged. so I tested it agian. and it paegged again. so I did a 50% water change, waited 2 hours tested it again and it still pegged. so then i thought i must be doing somthing wrong. so I ran the test on fresh RO water. and it again pegged. am i doing somthing wrong? does RO water have that high of a nitrate level I would not think so. Do these testes suck? or could i be doing somthing wrong?

The Salifert is the most recomnended test kit around - best price and most reliable around. If you can find someone with a Salifert test kit go for it.

I agree with wanareef they are the best. The only thing is(not shure of that kit )if there could be different scales one for fresh water do it this way and two for salt one for low & one for high.Just read the instructions again.
