Nitrate remover?

Are there any good products that are reef safe to help remove nitrates? I'm using PhosBan which works great on the P04! I'm just concerned about my nitrates there only at 0.2~0.3 But I would like to keep them at "0" if possible!

what is the margin of error on your test kit? it is really difficult to get rid of all traces of nitrate. i would not worry about it if it is that low.

to tell the truth i have no clue what my nitrates are. i have never tested for them.

yeah, 0.2-0.3 is nothin! try high 80's

lol

besides that nitrate sponge granules stuff dosen't really sponge up trates but they supposedly create a place for nitrate eating bacteria to thrive, so if you use them it can take weeks or months for them to begin reducing your levels....

i'm pretty sure thats how it all works....

anyone remember that "Monkey Liquid" stuff?

I'm not sure it's a Seachem kit!

Yea now that you mentioned it I remember reading about building some type of reactor thing that holds the media to remove the nitrates!

It took me 4 months of messing around with my RO/DI water & doing weekly water changes until I finely got things under control & stable! The nitrates have been 0 before they just now started to rise a little lately! I just want to make sure they don’t get out of control.
