nitrate high from ro water

well my tank is testing
phosphate 2.0
calcium 300 ppm
Mg 1470
kh 8.0
Alk 2.86
ph 8.0
nitrate 80
ro water only nitrate 20
salinity 1.021

I just did a pretty large water change two days ago, i have a 135 tank sps, bare bottom. i'm going to look for filters for my ro unit asap, but is there any idea's what I can do for my tank other than that? My ro is off ebay. Here's a copy and paste of what I bought. 100 GPD Reverse Osmosis complete sys D1005CT

Thats the problem with many of the cheap ro/di units off of ebay. Their filters, DI and RO membranes suck. By the time you upgrade to a quality membrane and filters, you will have spent what it would have cost for a good unit in the first place.

I recommend contacting thefilterguys.com or spectrapure. See if they can hook you up with the quality components that will fit your unit. I also recommend buying a TDS meter. Then you can test your output water for peace of mind that the unit is working and that none of the filters need replaced.

80 and 2.0 are pretty high readings. What kind of skimmer are you running on your system??

they are super helpful and your problem is one they are familiar with. A TDS meter is necessary equipment IMO. It will save what it costs easily in the long run as you wont be replacing filters needlessly, and it will tell you when its time

rechecking your tests is good.

I think you are missing a number in that skimmer. It sounds as though you have one of the older models and there will be a number before the "2"...like 6-2, or 8-2. The plus is maybe becasue it has a upgraded pump?? Although ive never heard of it called plus with ER skimmers...other brands i have though.....

Got a pic of it??

oopps sorry bought that yeah a 6-2 plus 2 I think is right and it is a sedra 5000? pump. It is bigger than the original I know, cause I had to replace it. think its rated for 135 gal. which is what i"ve got, plus the sump area.
