Question

nitrate


My nitrate went up. The test kit I am using is nutrafin and level says 10 its not the highest but I was wondering how do i bring it back down? I did a water change and cleaned the filters, will this help?

yes... you should be changing or cleaning those filters weekly.. do a 20% water change every couple of weeks and your levels will go back down

I usually clean the filters and give it a water a change every week but I kind of missed a week. Maybe that was the source of my nitrate problem because ammonia converts to nitrate right?

Yes it should if you use good water like RO/DI filtered water.
