Newbie, thinking of starting a tank

Hi,

Well I have found a 120 gallon drilled plexiglass tank with a stand and top it has a 20 gallon refuge but needs a pump all for $200.

What does drilled mean, what is the 20 gallon refuge? and what does it do?

Is that a good price?

I have never owned a salt water tank in my life so I will have LOTS of questions if I get this tank.

Just thought i would introduce myself before hand.

Thanks, Karmen

WELCOME TO TRT

That is a AWESOME Price assuming..
it holds water & it's not all scrached up.

A fuge is short for refuguim Basically a place to grow macro algea. It's purpouse is somewhat debated.

Keep in mind there is ALOT more you will need to make it a reef tank. And they can be alot of work but very rewarding. I suggest do some research over the next few days look at the TRT reading list and pick a few books.

Dont worry about asking too many questions without them TRT would be BORING

that's what I was thinking. sounds good if the tank is in good shape. Tell him to have it filled when you go look at it. Look for leaks, cracks, and stuff like that.

Hi,

What is the difference between plexiglass and acrylic? The ad says its plexiglass? Is that bad? and why? It is shown filled so it hold water.......... here are some pics along with the ad i hope they work.
