Newb Set up 40 gallon breeder questions!

I'm setting up a 40 gallon breeder and looking for some general lighting, sump and heater questions.

40 gallon breeder
20 gallon sump
protein skimmer
H.O.T. Magnum filtration
400/1200 power heads for extra flow

currently i have 2 lighting fixtures with 2 dual hamilton german 55w 10000k flourescent bulbs. Looking to change to 2 55w flourescent and 2 55w actinic.

Also

looking to figure out what size and kind of pump to buy?
looking at mag drive 1.5 (140gph). will this be enough flow? I've heard that you should be able to turn over your tank about 4 times and hour so this is what i'm going off of.

last but not least, heaters.
looking at 2 pro-heat titanium heaters but cannot decide what sizes?
100 or 150?

any help or suggestions with these will be greatly appreciated !!

Welcome to TRT.
What organisms do you intend to keep? This will help us to answer your question.
I would recomend mag 3 or mag 5 depending on the type of coral you were trying to keep.
I think go with the dual 150's for the heaters since your in a cold climate, it may be better to have a bit of extra power, but the 100's will work to.
Sound like a cool setup, post some pics when you get it going.

Ha Ha, watch out for this guy I've witnessed a clear lust for the Paulaner Oktoberfest Good to see another fish nut about a mile from me, soon lured by the dark side that is SPS corals

Sean,

see if one of the mods would let you move this thread into the TCMAS forum. That's where all us Twin Cities fish freaks hang out. Someone should have some live rock for a good price over there as well

welcome,
simple list
loose the canister
get a mag 5
get the 250w for those cold MN nights
go BB for SPS
you'll never have enough flow for SPS
forget about the fish, they'll just piss you off
