i got a small xenia frag today and a med size kenya (4 inches tall) the kenya was not attached to a rock but a cluster of sand and rubble was attached to the base, i put some coraffix on it, some of it got on the stalks base i stuffed this into a hole on one of my live rock, it was a snug fit but not too tight.. its been a couple hours and the tree has not opened up. i hope i did not kill it. the xenia was on a large rock.. bout the size of a golf ball, it was pretty easy to glue in place

The Kenya Tree should be okay, it is pretty hard to actually kill it. It may sulk for a while about being moved, glued, and stuffed into a rock, but it should open back up eventually. It may stay angry for a day or two depending on how bad it feels you treated it.

Both are very nice corals to have and I have seen both be very happy and grow to the point of being weed like. I have also seen them melt to nothing for no apparent reason.
But the real reason and by all means no ill intentions at all. I had to chuckle when I read..."the xenia was on a large rock.. bout the size of a golf ball"
I recently had a major loss in my tank (including my Xenia) One day when I went to the LFS I saw a rock in their Live Rock tank and it had some Xenia on it. I figured what the h-ll I need both the Xenia and the Live Rock to restock my tank. Well I didn't realize the rock was 14 lbs @ $6.99 per lb the Xenia of course was free, $84 later. Mine does not always pulse like this

i coulda got more xenia they had tons at the lfs, but i figured since they would either multiply like crazy or die, i would just get a small bunch, and let them grow or die. hopefully grow. glad to here that the kenya should be ok. i really like how it looked spread out.
