Yes thats the one, you all got there faster than me, I was told a yellow tang may be to large but what about a sailfin tang? I believe they stay smaller.

No, sailfins get big. Ours died in a 45 gallon b/c we didn't know any better. We didn't know they needed lots of room to swim around. Won't be getting anymore tangs unless we upgrade to a bigger tank!

Sorry Melanie sailfins are even larger none of the tangs do well unless they have 4' of length of swimming room minimum

Welcome melone,
that tank looks cool, but I have not had good experiences with Red sea Skimmers.
Aquapod makes a great nano tank of about the same size.

Also those tangs may be a bit big, but definately the sailfin, aprox 16 inches.
Estemate 1/2 inch of fish per gallon and that is a 29. Then take into effect the ammount of rock that takes up swimming space and you are not left with much.
With that said there are allot of colorfull fish that would fit in well to a tank of that size. Clownfish, royal gramma, angels (if your not too worried about nipping corals), Gobies, wrasse.
Check those out and see what you like.
Most importantly get the tank fill it with saltwater and get a few pieces of LIVE ROCK in it and just let it sit for a month or so while you do some research on what you want and what works together.

And keep asking questions!!!

okay - thanks for the advice, just would like some bright yellow fish, any ideas? My ideal tank would be with some nice colourful fish and lovely markings on them.

You will have several months to think about what kind of fish you want in there. You have many options for small, but colorful fish.

I would read up on what you need to do to cycle your tank and get it ready for fish--there is sooooo much info on this site and everyone here is incredibly helpful and nice.

When we first set up the tank with the salt and sand bed, do we buy RO water from the LFS or can you add tap water to start off? I know you need to top up with RO water but just wondered if it was needed to start with (a lot of containers to transport)
