New tank question
OK, here's the thing, I just bought a new tank I ordered it and had them drill some holes in it for my overflows, but here's the weird thing it's an All Glass tank and according to the stock number on it and the protective cardboard it is an All Glass 75E. Now the AGA web site says that the 75E is tempered and cannot be drilled, so did I just get lucky and the tank didn't shatter when they drilled it or am I just missing something here?

No, the shop that I ordered it from drilled it, I had holes for 1 inch bulkheads put in about three inches down and three inches in from the top and sides in each corner

i think the tempered tanks are only the bottom. you can drill the back, its the bottom of them that you cant drill.

I have the 75E and what they are saying is true. It is only the bottom that cannot be drilled the rest of the glass can.

That sounds logical, when I looked at their web site and saw two seperate tanks listed I wasn't sure if the one was all tempered or just the bottom pane.

Dittio! I just drilled the back of my new AGA and it went smooth. Just the bottom is tempered on AGA as far as I know
