new tank possibly

ok as some of you may know i have the 12g nano cube but now i kind of wanna upgrade. Im thinking maybe picking up the aquapod 24g w/ the MH top. If I do how do would i go about transfering all the stuff from the 12g to the 24g. Do i just get 12g of premaid saltwater already cycled and just transfer everthing right away at once??? or do i fill up the 24g with all fresh saltwater and let the water cycle again then put everything from the 12 into??
TIA

I had a 55 gallon and went down to the aquapod 24 w/ MH top, and I just took my water and live rock from the 55 and put it in the 24 and thus no cycle. I'm not sure about your case though, since you are needing to fill "more" area. I love my aquapod though, and so happy that I got the MH w/ it.

I went from a 29 to a 100g. I cycled the water for 2 days and then transfered everything over including the water contents of the 29. All is well for now.

i would recommend u get the 24 up and running and use some of the 12g water to seed ur tank and that will reduce the amount of cycle time , treat it as a new tank . you will need the time to allow the temps to get about the same . you may need more LR if ur planning on making it a reef tank .
