Look for damage, scratches, nicks. Look for signs of the silicone being re-done, quality of work on the overflow and drilling the holes, any cracks in the skimmer.

Basically, look for how well it's been cared for, and how well the work was done when setting it up.

Of course, if it's setup look for signs of leaks and look to make sure all the equiptment is working properly.

silcone being redone would be bad because the tank would have leaked... right... that should like like when I tried caulking the bathroom tub :0)
quality of over flow and drilling... no chips, rough edges, bulkhead fits ... what do I look for on the overflow?

Ya, silicone re-done is probably because of a leak, and who knows how well the person did it. Also look for any GREEN silicone (Forgot that bit) that means copper was used in the system.

The overflow is probably custom, so you are looking for how well the person did it.

You might expect a small chip or two on the corners, most of my tanks have at least one little one.

We know what the equiptment used to be when it was new, you are mailly looking to make sure the person maintained it well and didn't destroy it.

Humph I'm not going to involve anyone else that heavly in my life unitl I have a great job, and I have finished my education. Doing these things with somebody to support as well would be nearly impossible, there's time for marrige later, this is not the right time.

If the right girl comes along at the wrong time, she's not the right girl

lol whiskey for some reason i always thought u were old!! how long u been into reefkeeping? 26 here, also agree that u should be financially secure before marriage. if nothing else it would be one less thing to argue about!!!!! back to the point though. id just make sure everything is running right if the tank is setup when u go to look at it. the green sillycone is good advise. mainly id go for overall appeal. if its something i really liked id offer 150, then go from there!!!
