New sump design

I've been working with a guy out of sask. his name is steven phelps, has a company called engeneered aquariums. He has come up with this custom design for me. Just wanted to run it by you pro's to see if there are any flaws in its design. The skimmer is based on a recirculating type.

sump specs..

Main display tank is 90 gal.
External Overflow (siphon)
Sump with skimmer and refugium (sedra 5000 included)
Return Pump (Quite One 4000)

Actually... It looks over complicated IMO simplify simplify simplify... the best is the simplest. the built in skimmer looks great. after that i would take out all those extra baffels and just set up a single set right after the skimmer. that way you will have much more room in the sump for anything else you may need.

Don't the baffles help reduce mirco bubbles form getting into the main display?

Yes they do, but with a properly matched flow and adequate spacing between the baffles, the velocity of the water will be slow enough to allow the baffles to do what they are designed for. Also, if I'm reading it correctly, the refugium will get all the flow of the sump. If so, you wont get the full benefit of the macro algae as it absorbs nutrients best under slow flow conditions. Usually an in sump fuge gets a fraction of the water flowing through the sump. Algae takes time to take up nutrients and be efficient.
It really does look a bit complicated but not to say it wouldn't do a good job.

I agree with saying lower flow better for fuge. The reason the fuge is right inline with the sump and not connected by another means is that it will only fit in the cabinet this way.

But I will mention to tone down on the baffles maybe.... seeing as you guys think it doesn't need as many.
