It has the most awsome color effects on it...and its very lazy it moves very slow and as you can see just lays around.....The lfs had it for 4-5 months I finally got them to sell it as they had an aggresive tank...

i also agree that it is prolly a Fromia Spp. not sure of the exact species, but looking at the turned up arm tips and the surface texture it sure looks like a Fromia of somekind.

Good. Don't want to see him start melting in a few weeks.

Probably Nardoa from its gross appearance, posibly Nardoa novacalidonae of similar Gonophia spp., a relatively smooth knobby Echinaster, or possibly even a Mithrodia spp. off the top of my head. ID-ing these without the specimen in hand (i.e., from photos) is usually at best limiting your choices down to a few genera, as many of these echinoderms look visually quite similar, but are segregated into taxons based on morphological characteristics not necessarily evident in a photo of the resolution we can show with a whole specimen. Definitely not Linckia spp. and unlikely to be Fromia spp., although there are some Fromia that are similar, and I don't have a key here to eliminate all Fromia, either. It would help if we had an accurate indication of its source.
Could you turn it over and take a picture of the feet?
