New reef tank Questions

Good morning all, I have a newly set up reef tank, up about 1.5 months. Water parameters seem fine, ph 8.0, calcium 450, 0 nitrites and ammonia, nitrate at 20ish, have couple of crabs, shrimp and snails taking care of brown algae. Anyways, not that I am in a big hurry, I know this hobby is mostly about patience, but when is a safe time to add my first coral to my tank? Am thinking of starting with some type of LPS as I hear they are good for beginners. Any other suggestions as far as beginners corals?
Thank you all so much I love this site

Welcome to TRT sounds like you are off to a good start, and in your diatom bloom, that will pass, you will prolly start seeing some green algae blooms next. If you do a couple good sized water changes you might get the nitrate levels down. Nip that in the bud now, when the green algae kicks in it will feed off the nitrate and phosphate available in the system , left over from the rock cure process
I would wait a few more months to really give the tank a chance to settle down. Its hard to wait but it pays off in the long run.
Another thing to avoid is the temptation to add a fish or two just to keep things interesting. Fish means feeding and fish poop, which will drive the nitrate and phosphate levels which in turn will feed the algae blooms

I would wait a little longer and see if the algae blooms stop. Once that is under control then you can start adding. Before you add anything, make a list of the things you want and see if they are compatible. TRT can help a lot with your choices of fish and corals.
